An Indian 3D Printer That Is 20 times Cheaper…

Priced at 30,000 INR, this 3D printer is equivalent to a precision sand printer that cost 4-5 Lakh INR.

Jaspreet Singh, a 25-year-old research engineer from CT University in Ludhiana has made a new 3D printer that is 20 times cheaper than average 3D printers available in the market.

The new 3D printer is an industrial class precision Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) type 3D printer that comes with unique features. For example, Jaspreet has used a technology which can be used to manufacture any kind of complex parts which are not possible to manufacture using traditional manufacturing methods.

Offering details about how this economical 3D printer can help in different applications. Jaspreet added, “3D printers have numerous applications in industrial, medical, architecture and a number of other domains.

It is environment-friendly and leads to safe manufacturing process. In the field of medicine, this economical printer can be used for creating prosthetic limbs and customised casts for bone fracture and joint replacement parts. Not only will it help in 3D mash for plastic surgery but also help in making customized orthopedic foot soles”.

He is currently working with doctors and is in the process of developing a 3D printer capable of printing live body organs.
