NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA), the research wing of NTPC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Institute of Plastics engineering & Technology (CIPET) to develop the technological framework for production of floaters for floating solar power plants.
The pact aims to establish the technology for production of floaters for multi-Megawatt scale floating photovoltaic plants.
NETRA functions as a centre for research, technology development and scientific services in the domain of electric power. Its R&D efforts guided by a Research Advisory Council (RAC) comprising scientists and other experts.
NETRA focuses on areas of efficiency improvement and cost reduction; new and renewable energy; climate change and environmental protection including water conservation, ash utilization, waste management and advanced scientific services.
