Inox Wind was among five successful companies with winning bids for 1GW of wind capacity in India’s latest auction.

Inox won the right to develop projects totalling 250MW at a price of Rs2.65 (€0.035) per kilowatt-hour (kWh).

ReNew Power and Green Infra also won the right to each develop projects totalling 250MW at prices of Rs2.64/kWh and Rs2.65/kWh, respectively.

Orange Sironj secured projects totalling 200MW at Rs2.64/kWh, while Adani Green accounted for the remaining 50MW with a bid of Rs2.65/kWh.

The bids are lower than the last auction held in February, when a price of Rs3.46/kWh secured projects.The latest auction was carried out on 4 October by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on behalf of India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

The projects are scheduled to be commissioned within 18 months from the date of issue of a Letter of Award by SECI to the successful bidders.
