BSF Posts turns to Solar Energy

Gurgaon-based power back-up solutions company Su-Kam today announced it has solarized Border Security Force (BSF) in Sri Ganganagar district along the Indo-Pak border in Rajasthan. This will ensure that jawans recharge their communication and safety gear.

Su-Kam has fitted these post with a 1.5 Kilowatt solar system comprising of a solar inverter along with 500 watt solar panels and batteries which provide energy to power lights and 2-3 fans in each of these locations.

The batteries store electricity to power these posts even after sunset and the jawans, who had to earlier travel 4-5 kilometer to their base camps to get their gadgets charged, can now recharge their wireless systems and mobile phones at their posts.
