WINDERGY INDIA 2017 successfully concludes in Delhi

 WINDERGY INDIA 2017 concluded in the capital on 28th Apr’17. This two-day international conference and three-day international exhibition witnessed the participation of wind industry leaders.

This being first of its kind exhibition in India, received an active presence of over 150 exhibitors representing more than 10 countries. 800 plus delegates from different parts of the world and from within country participated. The event also saw presence of domain experts from premier research institutions such as National Institute of Wind Energy, the TERI, and the IIT’s also participated.

Many eminent personalities came together to contribute and make the first edition of Windergy India a great success.The eminent personalities who graced the event were Mr. Sumant Sinha, Chairman & CEO-ReNew Power, Mr. Tulsi R Tanti – CMD – Suzlon Group, Mr.Ramesh Kymal, CMD-Gamesa RenewablesPvt. Ltd., Mr. Madhusudan Khemka, MD-ReGenPowerTechPvt. Ltd and Mr. Sarvesh Kumar, President & COO, RRB Energy Limited& Chairman, IWTMA, Mr. Chintan Shah, President SBU, Suzlon Group & Vice Chairman, IWTMA, and the GWEC Secretary General, Mr. Steve Sawyer.

The exhibition showcased the latest products and services by the leaders of the wind industry from across the globe.

The event witnessed the release of the ‘Indian Wind Energy Outlook’ brought about jointly by IWTMA and GWEC and the Global Wind Energy Outlook by GWEC. This release coincided with the inaugural of the conference.

The Chief guest of the function, Shri. Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble. Minister for Railways said, “It has been a great journey for wind energy industry in the country, achieving milestones over the past few decades. Wind is one of the major drivers that catered a lot in the industry while benefiting people immensely by creating multiple job opportunities, is Make in India, a vision and mission set by the Hon’ble. Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. I know the industry has been facing many issues as well as challenges such as evacuation, opportunities for exports and mainstreaming of wind. Indian Railways would like to contribute towards renewal power in every aspect. In this context, the Railways Ministry has chalked out a macro and a micro plan envisaging majority of power contribution coming from the wind sector.”

He further appealed the leaders of the wind sector to come forward and support the sector to fulfil the micro and macro objectives.

Wind energy is in a unique position as compared to other forms of renewables as it supports both Make in India and Skill Indiavisions by generating employment at installation and generation stage.

As an organiser of the premium event along with GWEC, Mr. Sarvesh Kumar President & COO-RRB Energy & Chairman, IWTMA said, “We are overwhelmed with the response that we have received for Windergy India 2017.
