Suzlon company in Udupi district has closed doors on its employees without giving them any notice. Employees were shocked to see the locks when they came for work on Monday.
It can be remembered that last week, the employees went on a strike against non-payment of their salaries and demanded that the money is paid. The company had budged to the protest and had cleared the dues recently. Suzlon boasts of being one of India’s largest renewable energy solutions provider.
However, without giving any employee a clue, the company gates were locked late on November 15.
The company is situated at Nandikoor, Padubidri in Udupi district. Nearly 600 workers are staging a protest in front of the company gates from the morning, but there is no one to listen to their woes. Most of the workers are from North India, and 326 of them were appointed on a permanent basis, and others were on contract, leaving 600 workers in a shock.
A notice has been stuck to the gates stating that the company has been locked out and it will not be opened.
