SMA Inverter Sales have Doubled in 2017

SMA Solar has announced that it has sold over 3 GW of solar inverters in India cumulatively including more than 1 GW in 2017 into all market segments.

SMA inverter sales in the commercial segment have doubled compared to last year according to the company, corresponding to a market share of 30 percent in the commercial segment.

India is one of the key markets for SMA in the Asia Pacific region. Thanks to SMA’s wide product range catering to all market segments as well as the service network with regional presence has helped it grow many folds in last 3 years.

As of September 2017, ABB was the top inverter supplier in India with ~5.1 GW of solar inverters supplied. SMA, is the second largest supplier of solar inverters to India with over 3.3 GW. Other top inverter suppliers to India include TMEIC, Hitachi, Schneider Electric, and Huawei.
