Hyatt Regency INDIANAPOLIS goes 100% Green

Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, Hyatt Regency Indianapolis opened in 1977 and changed the city skyline, kicked off the re-birth of White River State Park area and the growth of downtown commercial real estate.

On the heels of Hyatt Regency Indianapolis’ recent 40th Anniversary celebration, the hotel looks to the future and is committed to making a strong environmental impact in Indianapolis. The hotel is proud to be a Green leader in the hospitality and business community.

Starting May 1st. Hyatt along with its partner Indianapolis Power & Light, (IPL) announced its decision to power their 499-room hotel with renewable wind energy. 100% of the hotel’s electrical needs will be generated by this environmentally friendly renewable resource.  IPL’s participation in this program helps support the development of renewable energy sources, which will in turn eventually help reduce the reliance on fossil-fueled power.  This reduction in carbon consumption will be the equivalent of reducing the C02 emissions of almost 500 average homes each year or 9 million lbs. of C02.

The hotel is an integral part of Indianapolis’ downtown tapestry, which welcomes 26 million visitors to the city annually.
