Porsche Taycan EV Launches in India First, Beating Tesla

Porsche, a German automaker, is preparing to enter India’s Electric Vehicle (EV) market with its upcoming sedan model Taycan. On November 12, Porsche India will unveil Taycan, an all-electric four-door sedan.

Taycan is the automaker’s first all-electric vehicle, which is already available in select global markets. Within nine months of its launch, a total of 28,640 units were sold in several countries.

Porsche unveiled this EV in September 2019 and planned to launch it in India in early 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the launch was delayed, and it will now arrive on Indian soil next month.

The car’s luxurious interior features four seats and a freestanding curved 16.8-inch digital instrument console. Additionally, it has an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Porsche has also addressed safety concerns with Taycan, including multiple airbags, automated emergency braking, and forward-collision warning.
