Second Floating Solar Project in Visakhapatnam

The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) tendered a 3 MW floating solar project to be developed on Meghadrigedda reservoir in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

This is the second floating solar project that will be developed in Visakhapatnam.

The first one which was tendered by Greater Visakhapatnam Smart City Corporation Limited (GVSCCL) is a 2 MW floating solar project to be installed on the Mudasarlova reservoir in Visakhapatnam.

This is a global tender. The scope of work includes, design, procurement, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the floating solar project. The successful bidder will be responsible for maintenance of the project for a period of five years. A pre-bid meeting will be held on December 6, 2017.

India has applied for financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor Development Program. Part of the financing received from ADB will be utilized for the development of this floating solar project.
