The first Hydrogen Fuel Cell coach in the country has a gross system power of 127 kW and a total power output of 105 kW. These numbers are comparable to the power output of a 300 BHP internal combustion diesel engine.

The hydrogen fuel cell is still in the conceptual stage and has not been approved yet. It will undergo testing for the next year to gain trust and ensure safety before it can be used for widespread commercial use.

Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland, in addition to BharatBenz and Reliance, are currently conducting tests on their hydrogen buses. Notably, Tata Motors has already obtained a certificate confirming the suitability of its upcoming hydrogen-powered buses for road usage.
