Ashok Leyland Launches Electric Bus ‘Circuit’

Ashok Leyland, the Leading automotive manufacturer, has launched electric bus named ‘Circuit’ that is made in India and engineered in India. This eco-friendly vehicle is first of its kind in India. Engineered to suit rough and tough Indian road conditions, the features of this indigenously produced electric bus are quite noteworthy.

The Circuit electric bus is eco-friendly since it has zero carbon emissions and it can travel 150 kilometers on a single charge. These electric buses are integrated with advanced telematics and fire detection and suppression systems to ensure passenger safety. They are getting attention from consumers since it is a big leap in mass transport with minimal operational and maintenance costs. In the current financial year, Ashok Leyland will produce 50 buses, taking to 200 buses by next year.

Under the Faster Adoption & Manufacturing of hybrid and Electric vehicles (FAME) scheme launched in 2014 they will get a subsidy. This scheme is part of the National Electric Mobility Plan that has set the target to put 7 million electric and hybrid vehicles on road by 2020.
