CIAL Infrastructures, a fully-owned subsidiary of Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has awarded Sterling & Wilson, an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) company, to develop 9.9 MW of grid-connected solar project in Cochin.
An official at CIAL Infrastructures Ltd. confirmed that Sterling & Wilson emerged as the lowest bidder by quoting ₹349 million to develop 7.5 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) project and ₹158 million to develop 2.4 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar on the roof of carport.
In all, six firms participated in the financial bidding for 7.5 MW ground-mount projects and five agencies participated in the financial bidding for 2.4 MW rooftop solar project, the CIAL Infrastructures Ltd. official added.
The 7.5 MW of grid-connected solar projects will be developed at five different locations of the Cochin International Airport premises and 2.4 MW grid-connected rooftop solar project on the roof of carport. The project completion time-frame is six months for the rooftop solar project and five months for the ground-mount solar project.
CIAL Infrastructures Ltd., had estimated the project cost to be approximately ₹510 million for the entire 9.9 MW.
