Sensing a big business opportunity here electric two-wheeler maker Okinawa and online platform for used bikes CredR have partnered to launch exchange offer on any petrol-based two-wheeler for e-scooter.

Okinawa launched its first electric two-wheeler in India in 2017. Currently, Okinawa has seven electric scooters in its portfolio ranging from Rs 40,000 to Rs 1.14 lakh (ex-showroom). However, they are also planning to launch an electric motorcycle in the future.

Okinawa has created a Innovation in the field of EV Technology with its IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) for –

  • Micro processor controller for electric two wheeler
  • Permanent magnet BLDC motor for electric two wheeler
  • NMC Lithium Ion Battery with battery management system

The scheme was initially launched in Ahmedabad, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bangalore and Pune, and will soon be expanded to other cities across the country, it added.

While exchanging the scooter, CredR will offer instant quotes for old petrol scooters, thereby reducing the upfront cost of Okinawa scooters, it said.
