Lhyfe & Capital Energy Collaborate On Offshore Hydrogen Projects

Lhyfe, a French green hydrogen manufacturer, and Capital Energy, a Spanish corporation, have joined forces to build offshore renewable hydrogen projects in Spain and Portugal. The two firms will work together to construct hydrogen production facilities at Capital Energy’s offshore wind farm locations. Capital Energy now has a 7.5 GW development pipeline in both nations.

Lhyfe claims to have the only prototype unit operational in the world for the generation of green hydrogen offshore. Named Sealhyfe, the system was inaugurated in France in 2022. The business plans to produce 200 MW of green hydrogen by the end of 2026 and 3 GW by the end of 2030.

ABB established a partnership with Lhyfe and Skyborn in May 2023 to implement and optimize the SoutH2Port renewable hydrogen project in Sweden.

ABB would work with both the companies to push for large-scale integration of offshore wind renewable energy hydrogen generation into the electricity grid.
