Fast forward to yesterday, a disgruntled Reddit user reported that the Cybertruck’s windows are still susceptible to damage, this time from routine hail storm in Texas thus raising questions about the durability of Tesla’s much-hyped electric truck. Photos show the damage and the user reported a repair cost of whopping $2,326.75.
“Wonder if flat shape and shallow angle makes it easier to break,” another Redditor pondered.

This incident comes after Tesla boasted on its website that the Cybertruck’s “Armor Glass” could withstand a baseball at 70 mph or even Class 4 hail. While the company later demonstrated the glass’s strength with a baseball, concerns remain.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has mentioned a “beast mode” option with bulletproof glass, but this would further increase the price of an already expensive vehicle. The Cybertruck has also faced criticism for lower-than-advertised range and other issues, casting doubt on whether additional features will address these core problems.
