Span & Panasonic Unveil Home Energy Management Partnership

Panasonic and Span have entered into a new partnership that will see the two companies partnering to more seamlessly integrate Panasonic’s Evervolt energy storage systems with Span’s intelligent, connected electrical panels.

Span’s panels enable visibility and control over each individual circuit in the home, up to a total of 32 circuits. Bundling the ability of electrical panels to monitor and control power flowing to each circuit in the house with Panasonic’s Evervolt system should allow for more granular control of what circuits in the home are backed up during an outage, among other benefits.

For example, if the power goes out, homeowners can toggle individual circuits on or off to save power while preserving power for critical loads like lighting and refrigeration.

Integrating energy storage with Span’s smart electrical panel functionality has the potential to unlock the full potential of the panel itself by letting the panel and storage work more seamlessly and transparently with each other.

The synergies play out in the installation as well, with a combined smart panel system being easier and cheaper to install compared to the cost of upgrading an electrical panel and adding an energy storage system to a home.

This is both a function of the need for fewer components and less labor to install the simplified combined system.

Panasonic is one of the most trusted and recognized brands in home appliances, consumer electronics, and solar. Now they are bringing a home battery solution to market with EverVolt and Span partnership.
