Vikram Solar, one of India’s top module manufacturers and a renowned EPC solar solutions provider, has commissioned a 1 Megawatt (MW) solar plant for Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT), The Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Trust. The Honorable Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, inaugurated it.

This is KoPT’s first solar facility, which is located in the Haldia Dock Complex. KoPT’s ground-mounted captive solar plant is anticipated to create 1.4 million units of green energy per year and save about 1,260 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
