IndianOil Corporation Limited is India’s largest energy company, having a monopolistic position in the downstream refining and marketing industries. It is placed 151st on the Fortune Global 500 list (2020).
IndianOil has ambitious intentions to diversify its energy portfolio by establishing 260 MW of renewable energy (wind and solar) during the next five years. Recently, the business introduced a high-performance semi-synthetic product called “Servomesh WEG 320” for wind turbine gearboxes.
This device has been tested against strict wind turbine gearbox standards, including those specified by DIN 51517 part 3, Flender, and Winergy Rev 3.
Flender & FAG Schäffler have approved IndianOil’s Servomesh WEG 320. Winergy & Moventas have also cleared the product for field trials. For the previous two years, the product has been operating well in two of Winergy’s 2.1 MW gearboxes, with frequent monitoring of oil, gear internals, and turbine characteristics.
Servomesh WEG 320 was compared to standard Wind Gear Oil and found to be better in terms of micropitting protection, oxidative stability, foam and air release, filterability, low-temperature performance, and rust and corrosion protection.
Servomesh WEG 320 will perform comparably to completely synthetic PAO-based devices on the market, with the additional benefit of being less expensive.
